World Bank released its 'Ease of Doing Business Index 2019" on 31 October 2018. India managed to jump in the list of countries by 'Ease of Doing Business Index' by 23 places to 77 from 100 in 2017. India just improved the overall position, remarkable anyway. But India is still at 137th on "starting a business", 166th on "property registration", 163rd on "enforcing contracts", 121st on "paying taxes" and 108th on "resolving insolvency". These topics are not insignificant in 'ease of doing business'. How does India promote business without correcting this serious limitation? Will the better performed indicators bring the businesses automatically? Before celebrating the achievement, we need to work hard on the poor status of above said topics on which India has serious dullness.
